Cesar Vasquez-Carrera joins the District 4 office with prior experience including serving as an electrical and electronics engineer for NASA, Technical Member of Staff and Manager on several unmanned planetary exploration projects with space probes dealing with image processing, like Voyager, Magellan, Mars Observer, and Galileo, helped various computing projects for the U.S. Military. He was Operations Vice President for Bank of America and Engineering Manager and Executive for Intel Corp. in Arizona. He has a bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona. Originally from Los Angeles, California, but has travelled the world over. Enjoys many extracurricular activities and hobbies, like exercising and walking on the beach and by reading books about electronics and computers, museums, health food, and bios from important figures in world history.
He has over 20 years of helping the homeless, in the capacity as a Homeless Engagement Team (HET) Member and Case Manager, especially during the last 3 years and 8 months at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) helping people experiencing homelessness, and until a final goal of permanent housing can be achieved for each homeless client. Cesar is bilingual in Spanish, lived in Mexico for 5 consecutive years where he learned the country's language and culture, and has the ability of speaking to anyone to help them improve their lives by getting them housed. He can be found doing some extra curricular activities, like working part-time (time-permitting) at Disneyland, as a Disney Rep (public speaking) and in Parade Operations, by volunteering as a Docent tour guide (Architecture & Garden) at the Getty Center and Getty Villa, and as President of the IEEE Computer Society.
