Jorge (pronounced "George") brings over 3 years of government experience into the 4th City Council District. Jorge previously served on Capitol Hill working with U.S. Congressman Dean Phillips focusing on federal comprehensive housing and labor policies like the Homes for All Act and the PRO Act. Jorge continued his love for public service working with Assemblymember Jose Medina where he played an integral role in securing veteran housing to the Inland Empire, logging casework management notes on behalf of the Assemblymember, and being an active voice in the community. He recently worked for a non-profit organization that oversaw a Project Roomkey site, which assisted in sheltering over 300 participants who previously experienced homelessness. In his efforts, Jorge worked alongside landlords, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, and numerous unhoused participants to secure them long-term supportive and permanent housing. He hopes to take both his government and social service experience directly to the fields of Council District 4 to bring forth substantive changes reflected in the community's values. In his free time, Jorge loves to watch the Los Angeles Lakers and remains hopeful Lonzo Ball re-signs with the "Showtime Lakers." His favorite spot in the district is any pho restaurant, so he can take home delicious leftovers for his fox look-alike dog, Fox.
